I have been using the Mag Mount on a Rio 1700 since Feb. 2011 to create surge in a 180 gal. marine tank of gorgonians. BUT NOTE: I had to shave down the track on the mount to enable it to slide into the grooves on the back of the pump. I used coarse black emery cloth laid face up on a hard flat surface. Lay the legs of the Mag Mount's track flat on the emery cloth and sand off enough until the triangular edge of the tracks appear sharp. Very happy with results.Mag Mount allows positioning anywhere flow is needed. Far more dependable than suction cups and more versatile than hanging brackets from top of tank.
