The half moon design of the cast iron searing grate is ideal for your Oval JR 200 Primo grill. It allows for searing in half your grill with high direct heat, while cooking indirectly on the other half. Similar to a cast iron pan, the cast iron retains heat which allows for quickly searing meats. Once seared, it will continue to cook or simply move it over to the regular grate to continue cooking. When grilling at high temperatures, the grate works to lock in juices for tender, flavorful meat each and every time.
