We are a homeschool family. This year in CC we are studying US history and of course, the US map. I hung this on the wall tonight, planning to let my five year old start on it tomorrow morning. She was so excited when she saw Kentucky, she could not wait until school time tomorrow to get started. It is very large, so if you plan to hang it on the wall...you will need a large space. We chose to hang it in the hallway, towards the floor so she could reach it easily to color it. We printed small address stickers with the states and capitals so she can stick them in the correct places after coloring the states. This is made of a lightweight corrugated paper, like flexible cardboard. I pinned it to the wall with thumb tacks. The thickness of it is nice if you plan to allow a child to color it with markers. It will not bleed through to your wall. This map is perfect for our homeschool lessons and I plan to buy a replacement when we repeat this CC cycle in three years.

We bought this map prior to the November 2016 election to teach the kids about the electoral college. We were hosting an election night party, and the kids colored in each state red or blue as the results were announced. of course, it was bedtime before the whole thing was over. The kids learned some new swear words that evening as well from the adults at our election party.
