This was my first ever airbrush. Everything works and it's very easy to use.

Two things I had to figure out initially was that the paint NEEDS to have the consistency of milk or lighter. It says this in the manual but it's something you have to get a feel for when you are preparing your paint. I suspect this may be the problem that some people are having when they sate that the suction isn't sufficient or the brush doesn't seem to work. If the paint isn't the proper consistency then all you get is air and maybe some sputters of paint. Get it right though and the brush is awesome.

The other thing I had to figure out is assembly and dis-assembly for proper cleaning. It's also very quick and easy once you understand how to properly do it but at first it was a little nerve wracking for me. The brush is very well made and the parts are very fine so you might, like me, be afraid to break them initially but it turns out that they are pretty tough so with care and practice everything comes apart and goes back together without problem.
