Used this while backpacking in Boy Scouts. Easy to use, long lasting. You can get rid of the iodine taste after enough time has passe to disinfect by adding some ascorbic acid(vitamin C.) Comforting to know that safe water is always available.

I used this product when our scout troop went to Northern Tier. It provides no weird after taste that the pills offer.

Glad to see this is back again available. We used it between 1982 to 2003 (after which we took a long break from backpacking). Found it in time to take it with us on this year's trip to Colorado. It kept our water drinkable and safe.

Used this on a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters (BWCA) and it was perfect. You can add it to any water container and it'll purify in 30-60mins, both bacteria, and viruses. It's small, rechargeable (add water to the bottle and it recharges in 30-60min), and purifies 2,000 liters.

Missing contents,,,,no pills. At all..... I lost money here. Can't return it...I looked inside the newly received package, opened the bottle. Seal was not broken, all that were inside was dust particles. They sent me a dud! I'm I'm upset. Would like a full bottle....not dust particlesLow grade is deserved here. Not even a star.

The nice thing about Polar Pure is that it doesn't go bad. Iodine tablets have a short shelf life once exposed to the air. But not so with Polar Pure. I can leave this in my desk drawer for a year, and know it will be OK next time I need it. As long as you can see any crystals at the bottom of the bottle, you are good to go. I hiked the High Sierra Trail and John Muir Trail (271 miles) in 2013 and this is all I used. If you use a filter (I don't) then you should know they are subject to breaking and to freezing. I would suggest you carry Polar Pure as a backup to your filter. (I should mention: the thermometer on the side has never worked for me. I just use two capfuls all the time.)

Brand new, it measured just over half the printed net weight. Less than one star from me.
