while the zip cord worked great the little snap button never held. Tried to bend the snap to hold better but that only held for a day. Had to stop using for fear of losing badge. will need to replace clip to use it again.

I've used this almost every day for just over a year. Sometimes the black circle falls out of the clip part, but I just pop it back in. Overall it does the job and I'm happy.

Update: After several months of heavy use, my string died yesterday by not retracting back. This is the second badge holder that has broke on me. Like my original review says, I extend the string a lot at work, so it's bound to happen. I won't subtract a star based on that because I feel like all of these clips sold on here are cheaply made.I'm required to badge-in/out on a daily basis through almost every door I use at work. I needed something with a retractable cord and purchased this based on the reviews.Initially, I liked that it was lightweight. It has a belt clip and a belt hoop clip. Both secure firmly but obviously the belt hoop clip is more secure. It also serves as a key chain.The big flaw however, is that the black circle inside the chrome housing can easily be punched out, causing the badge itself to drop to the ground. This has occurred several times and if you don¡¯t hear it, you may be without a badge and not even know it. I¡¯m not sure if this is a design choice or flaw, or if mine just didn¡¯t come glued together. But it definitely loses a star which is disappointing considering I like everything else about it. I haven¡¯t yet but I¡¯ll likely just superglue the thing to prevent this in the future.With that being said, I use my badge 20+ times a day and it¡¯s only fallen off a handful of times ¨C annoying and potentially costly, yes. But I can deal with it. I did however, want to let everyone on here know.

the slide on slip part should be tighter. It slips off of my scrubs when I try to swipe my badge at locked doors (with a slight lateral pull).

Serves it's purpose!

Works good. Not enough tension for this card holder part: 1840-3081 (w/cards & badge). I need tohelp it back up so we will see how long it lasts.

I bought this to replace a broken badge reel I had gotten from work that only had the clip, not the carabiner too. I like this one better because it has both so I can clip it to my belt loop or to my pocket. This is the most versatile badge reel I have seen.Since it comes with the snap loop and a key ring, it's also perfect for cruising. I can put my photo ID in a vinyl badge holder and punch a hole in my cruise card, attach to the key ring and have quick access to my card when getting into my cabin or on and off the ship without having to dig around in my pockets or shore bag. I also attach the carabiner clip to a lanyard so I can wear it with dresses.

Worked great, long reach. I like having both the carbiner and the clip, although the carbiner was a little small for my belt loop. I like that it came with both a snap for a badge holder and a keyring. I work in food service, so I need to keep both a card and key handy.Popped apart after about 4 months...

Glad I have one I love it

I bought this mainly for the clip on the back as most of my work pants don't have belt loops. The carabiner is an added bonus. I hate the spring clip on the badge reel they gave us and this has made me very happy so far. Folks at the office liked it too. I haven't had it long enough to see how durable it is, but it's survived the two falls it's had. The only improvement I could see here is to make the clip a little tighter.

Product design is thoughtful. It has the carabiner option that works well with pant loops or a clip option that works on shirts or sweaters without snagging. ATAFA was an excellent company to deal with for purchase of this product. The product meets my needs and works better than many of the competitive products that I've owned. However, on my first order, the snap that holds the ID badge was defective on one of the two that I had ordered. I contacted the seller and they immediately sent out a replacement. They were easy to deal with and were exceptional in their service.
