It's okay. Certainly does the job. Use some of the green polishing compound for a bit better results. However, I'd honestly recommend using a real leather strap or something better than this.

It's okay, but I wouldn't buy it again. First off, trying to use it the same way you use conventional Lansky hones is very time consuming and not very effective. If you make the mistake of pushing it back toward the edge you are sharpening it will cut the leather with ease. I found that if you are sharpening a blade to a 25 degree angle and stay at that angle with strop it has virtually no effect. If you use the guided and rod I found that going to 30 degrees helped. But what really works is to simply removed the guide rod, flip this over on it's back, charge it with jeweler's rouge and strop manually. If I had it to do over again, I would not buy it. I would (and will) make a leather strop on a wooden base so I won't have the limited size of this strop and a more stable platform.

Fits on Lansky rod, feels like good leather, leaves a nice finish. Price is a bit high for what you get.

This is a very small leather polisher, for the price.

Good initial quality. Cuts/Tears easily if not very careful. Works as described.

Does the job but both the leather and the plastic degrade quickly.

Does its job...but only on the edges. The whole thing is concave, running it's length. It arrived fast and DOES work. But I would much rather use the entirety of the surface than just the edges.

It works ok. I wanted something a little better and I got a strop block from Knives Plus, and it's amazing. It has compound already in it and it will last my lifetime.

It's leather as the name suggests, just highly over priced.

Works like it's supposed to. The leather had a crease in it. still works, but lansky QA shouldn't let that pass.

I'm sure this final hone in the process is advantageous to some, but the final polish stone in the regular kit literally leaves a mirror finish at the end of sharpening. The finish and edge was already so good, it felt as if doing nothing with this hone.

I used this product immediately after sharpening using theLansky Deluxe 5-Stone Sharpening System. The knife was slightly sharper, but I mainly noticed a cosmetic difference. I tried using the tool as is, as well as with jewelers rouge as recommended. The jewelers rouge clumped up and made the tool difficult to use, and is hard to remove once applied, so I would recommend not using it. Overall this did work, however I am not sure it is required for a razor sharp blade, so I wouldn't buy again.

See my review of the whole system. It's just not worth the hassle and this strop is cheap and small and doesn't add to the experience. If you're really obsessive compulsive you might enjoy this system cause it does require serious attention to repetition....
