If you have a problem with fish food floating into your filter this is the answer. I tried two types of floating feeding rings in my 175 gallon aquarium that did not work well. My larger fish would bump the ring spilling food or detach the rings from their suction cup holders. This 9 inch ring floats high enough to contain food and it is stationary mid tank , catching the cross tank support and frozen in place. It is barely visible, less so than the four inch rings.

Since this is rigid plastic it wasn't getting misshapen with the floating plants in the pond. The fish learned pretty quickly that their food was going to be placed in the ring and they are usually waiting for their breakfast there.Only wish it sat slightly higher in the water to keep flake food from floating away but still very happy with it!!

We changed from a bottom water suction system to a water level skimmer and all the food was flowing quickly into the skimmer before the fish could eat. This ring was suggested by the pond builder and would have worked well with small fish. However, the larger koi would inadvertently empty the ring when they flipped away after grabbing their bite. The only solution was to purchase sinking food or spend a fortune feeding the skimmer instead of the fish. The ring does contain the small the food that floats. I can't answer the Rate Feature on Suction Power. That needs to be edited as there is no suction involved.

Item was received quickly. It was perfect for a location for my koi fish to go and eat. They are enjoying their new spot.

The simple design works great at keeping fish food out of our skimmer but I wish it was available in a larger size. Unless you bend over it is hard to get a handful of food inside the ring without some of it blowing outside the ring. The fish adapted quickly but again the small size makes it harder for the smaller fish to get access to the pellets. If you make a bigger one I will buy it immediately.

The Feeding Ring was an identical replacement for one I have been using in my pond for many years! The only reason I replaced it was that after long service it was floating lower and lower in the water allowing food to escape and fall to the bottom of the pond, where my fish wouldnt find it thus wasting fish food and a little of my pond cleaning time!
