I had a similar product from a different maker that lasted for years. I finally threw it away when the rubbery outside layer decomposed to the point that I could not hold it. This opener has a finish that mimics stainless steel, but I believe it is plastic. It should not decompose, so that is an improvement from my old one. This one has also removed different types of corks. My old one worked on real corks but its performance was spotty on the artificial ones. So far at least, the Houdini has removed everything I have tried it on. Time will tell if it works as long as my old one, but it is off to a good start.

A dear friend recommended after frustration with electric openers and even the pull one. This one is a bit heavier because of the batteries. BUT, it works great, even on plastic/rubber corks. The extra weight is so worth it. Cannot really speak to battery life but it's certainly going strong after a lot of use. I don't know if there is a low battery warning so cannot comment there. Get this - it is much better than the better known one! Thank you to our friends!

Bought this for my dad for Father's Day because him and his wife got one from OS TER at it always breaks down never works at never charges properly my dad is hella impressed and very happy
