I bought 2 of these to isolate my pump/filter for ease of cleaning and maintenance. I installed both using Blue Monster pipe tape and Blue Monster sealant. Both of them have leaks on the female end and after closer inspection, there are also cracks in the unit. They were both hand tightening them with a final small turn with a wrench to make sure it was snug. Going with a different brand and sending this junk back.

We had gone with a no-name previously and it didn’t last at all, the knob broke and the seal wasn’t good. We learned our lesson and went with a true Hayward part that functions as expected

I bought this to replace the current one on my pool pump. Exactly the same as I was taking off. Works perfectly and came in a timely manner as promised.
