This is a preliminary review, since the speaker still has to break in. But I'm confident I will still love it. The speaker fits -- barely -- in my 1968 Silverface Champ (with drip-edge and black lines). Fortunately, the baffle board came straight out the front. From what I've read, this is not the case with later Silverface Champs. So your mileage may vary. As I said, this barely fit. The basket is just touching the can capacitor but everything is snug wth the speaker and baffle board so I'm not going to worry about it. I changed the speaker because my amp has the original Jensen Alnico. It is intact but I do not want to take a chance of damaging it. So I swapped this in instead. It does sound better, much nicer high and no farting out on bass. Also good clean mids.

Other good speakers available at lower prices. I took a chance. this is a good speaker! Installed by my tech in a 1976 Champ during blueprinting the circuit. The 820H works brilliantly with my vintage Esquire. Absent any harsh 34;bite34; and nice low end for an 834; driver. I did not audition any other qualified speakers, and I considered 3 other brands that are in high regard. I am qualified to tell you that I am super happy with my decision. I am a vintage collector for 50 years, a musician who has worked onstage with vintage amps. Also a retired sound contractor. I like it. A nice fit for a Silver Faced Champ!

I have a '56 Fender Champ, the old tweed model, and the speaker was just inadequate. I ordered this speaker, and was chagrined to find out it was NOT a direct replacement. After a little research, I took the baffle board out and sent it to the fine folks at Mojo. The Mojo crew did their Mojo thing, and built a new baffle board with the speaker studs precisely fitting this speaker. After some FedEx misadventure, I put it together, and holy moley, what a great little speaker. I broke it in for about 20 or so hours, using my iPod as the source, and letting it play evenings after I got home from work. At the end of the break in period, I was just pleased as punch with the sound. The Fender Champ always had as its weak spot the speaker, and this remedied the issue. In '56, the amp cost $49; the book on it now is $1200-1400. Keith Richards was among the first to use one of these in many seminal Stones recordings. Just a great speaker for a great little amp.

Got to be honest: I put this in a little guitar practice amp (Bugera V5) that I use for living-room bass, and it just doesn't quite cut it for me -- it's too neutrally voiced. Too clean and tame compared to my scoopy Celestion Super 8. But that isn't a true criticism of the speaker. For any application demanding major sonic fidelity without much EQ coloration, I would heartily recommend this driver. Very impressive construction!

Geeez Eminence! Let's be a little more reasonable with your pricing. This speaker is not worth 60 bucks!!!! Sent it back and bought the Jensen MOD 6-15 in 8 ohms. I do not hear a 35 dollar difference between the Emmy and the MOD. Save your money on this one fellow guitar players. The hemp is not worth the extra dough.
