I struggled for years not having a fireplace and really wanting one and this is a perfect solution from my house! It looks realistic and makes the place so cozy!

I needed to replace an old 1983 Vermont Castings wood fireplace, I wanted a 240v unit to optimize heat output. The Ceramic heating element on this unit is very efficient and puts out a good amount of heat with relatively low amperage at 240v (twice as much heat at less cost than with 120v). Note I did have to knock out some bricks because this unit is deep and square and my opening was rectangular but it was worth the effort. Overall we are very happy with it. The flames look almost real, the settings are all we would ever use and the heat output (with 240v) is impressive for an electric (it is also very easy to wire). The one thing I would like to see improved is the quality of the remote control. It is toy grade plastic and the battery installation is very difficult to line up properly while closing the door and installing a screw. I had to hold the battery down with a small thin pocket knife while turning the screw in with my other hand at the same time. Thankfully if the remote should ever die there is a full control panel in the front of the fireplace. I needed the large surround to cover my repair work on the opening which makes the fireplace look even bigger which we like.

Looks ok. Blower is very good if a little noisy but to be expected. Miss the option of doors like the other fireplace we had that we replaced.

The best by far for a realistic electric fireplace I ever seen. Everyone is amazed it's actually not a gas flame. Although the heater works perfectly and puts off a fair amount of heat, the noise of the fan is very annoying. The product would be a perfect "10" if the fan speed was adjustable. It's hard to carry on a conversation or watch a movie in peace when the fan kicks on.

Having had the Dimplex RB30FG since Monday, December 04, 2023, I installed it as a hardwired 240V, built in, and running 3 days now. It looks great and heats well. My wife and I like the look of the pseudo flames and the background of faux brick. The instructions for the remote functions leave a little to be improved upon but the remote and onboard touch controls work well. At first the remote would not work and it turns out that Dimplex provided included a dead 2032 battery. I put in one of my own and the remote worked. When we chose this fireplace, I had read many reviews that said the fireplace fan was noisy. It is much noisier than two previous gas fireplaces we have had in two other homes we have owned over the years. Both the previous gas fireplaces were built in and had almost inaudible fans. One was a large 40,000 BTU unit and was silent with the fan running. Why Dimplex chose to use the noisy fans is a mystery to me. It is so easy to design and/or choose a fan unit that is very quiet. My background in engineering tells me this was either not properly vetted when designed, or purposely done to save money in manufacture. Dimplex, please secure and supply a quiet fan that can be retrofitted in these units. Over all we like the fireplace and would recommend it to others with the caveat that it is noisy when the fan is on.

So I just had this fireplace installed about 8 months ago and it took them 6 months to come out to repair it being that I told them the flames were not showing above the logs but about an inch or 2. (Their pics and vids have been enhanced) They said they would fix it. They came out replaced a couple parts and it looks exactly the same. After they reviewed my video they said yes this is exactly how it's supposed to be. So if you're looking for a fireplace that has realistic flames that do not show above the logs then this is the fireplace for you. Aweful. Spend your money on a different company.

The electric fireplace looks better the its competitors ,the heating function works great . The seller is responsive and helpful. BUY THIS ONE !

We replaced a gas fireplace that kept having parts break. This unit is a little loud, but it looks really nice and puts out a lot of heat. Easy install and high output.
