Their ads say ceramic but they're actually made of resin.

These little statues are not ceramic or porcelain, as the description stated when I bought them. They are either plastic or resin and somewhat messily made - the shapes blend together, there's no crisp edges. It's as if everything is melted on. The paint does not stick very well and looks streaky and watered down with only one coat. I've given it two stars instead of one because I did like the weight of them and they don't feel like they'd break easily. I'd have been happier if I'd known what I was getting, since it wasn't what I had been looking for. They'd make good crafts for anyone who might be liable to break real ceramic (and I did drop one once. I think the floor was more harmed than the gnome).

This is a gift for my mom who is home bound and she loved them . She thought they were very cute and accompanied by a acrylic paint set . She can paint them and place in her garden for spring .

They were a little hard to paint with just one coat. 2 to 3 coats of paint was necessary to give it the right color. Otherwise, a nice little gnome to paint.

Yes, One would think..."fun garden gnomes!" I purchased two sets for my grandkids to paint to give for Christmas presents. I am blushing to even write about the problem.... The guy holding the shovel...seems to have an elongated "male" issue going on! It's unfortunate that girls 9 amp; 8 would see this...but, it IS the world we all live in now... I was pleased with the quality...but, would suggest to the designer to re-think certain details!!!
