I've had mine for about six months had still looks new. It can take a beating but I had to change some of the things inside the back of the Bob that hold the screw's with lock nuts because they keep coming loose and broke. Also im putting carpet on the bottom of mine because I don't know how long the plastic will last moving it around my floor and I have it filled with water.

One of the body attachment screws was stripped. I am wondering if that will affect the durability and life of the unit.

Three stars because I know I probably got a defective product from an otherwise good company. My BOB broke three times after two uses. Apparently I'm either Bruce Lee, or a defect allowed me to punch the screws right out of the product, leaving the metal housings intact, but ripping the threading right out. Might need to look at this product to address possible issues with other ones in my production batch.

Came quickly but after just a few uses the threading to keep the dummy to the post stripped so only a matter of time before it falls apart this wouldn't be an issue if you got more then 3-4 sessions with it before this happened, but the adjusting heights is easy and quick, if quality was better would be a great training tool.

My corporate Gym bought one of these. It is really a lot of fun and takes a hit well. You can adjust the height to big tall muscular dude or short muscular dude. It takes kicks, hits, whatever you throw at it. But you know, that didn't last. All it took was a few disrespectful guys with monster kicks and blows and the silicone ripped away right round the nuts that hold the back to the base. The guys really abuse the equipment. I've seen them on the bags jump in the air like a movie towards the bag and beat down on the head. Har har har, and now we don't have Bob to beat on any more. The bags can take a beating like these guys give, but Bob couldn't.Bob was only around for a few months and half that time with a zip-tie fix. The gym tried to zip tie with new holes and cobble Bob back together but I think he eventually ripped and ended up in the dumpster because he's gone.In short, if I were a gym I wouldn't spend the hundreds on this. It'll break. But if I have the $ personally (or you're a karate gym where there is discipline, supervision, and people respect the equipment), it is a lot of fun and you can really do well with it.

First off, I like and respect the folks at Century. Their products are innovative, they are always working to improve them, and they care about customer service. I bought BOB because I was tired of some of the flaws of my Wavemaster bag, and because BOB just looked like fun. He was. He offers a surprising amount of resistance, so he helps you develop your power, and he offers targets for those exotic shots: head butts (careful), throat strikes, eye gouges. But . . . I hadn't had BOB for even two years before I started to literally tear his head off. Now, I am not a young man, I am not a big man, and though I have martial arts training, I haven't put my fist through any brick walls lately. I didn't even work out with BOB every day. But I figure a couple more sessions and I will have completely decapitated him. A crack extends from his chin to the back of his neck on the right side. His noggin flops around and the stuffing flies out with every strike. I liked BOB as a training tool, but for the money, he should last longer. Caveat emptor.
