I have been using this system in my stained glass studio for over a year. Grinding glass produces a fine sludge much like slurry from a clay studio. Overall, I am quite satisfied with how easy it is to use, however, sediment has still bypassed the trap and deposited in the drain pipes. I bought an inexpensive drill auger which took care of clearing the blockage in the pipe. I will continue to use this system but try to limit how much glass sludge goes down the drain. The collection bottles can also be dumped and reused multiple times.

It does seem to separate out sediment as intended. I like that it is easy to maintain and empty.Only problem is the unit is held up only by the compression fitting, and cantilevered at that. It's pretty heavy with that jug of water on the bottom, and the fitting couldn't hold it up no matter how much I tightened it. I ended up adding a strap to the drain spigot on the other side to help support it.

Did the job. But as others have said jar lip isn't smooth at the molding seam. I just sanded/filed it down, and it stopped leaking. Overall good product. The dentist office liked it.
