Popped a plug on a 2001 V10, ordered this kit and within hours of it arriving was back up and running. Understand that you will want a long air gun to clear chips from the cylinder and ideally a borescope to check for remaining metal before assembly. This kit is the standard in the industry for a reason.... it simply works and fast.

Tool is very straight forward, I used it on a rebuild, heads off block. Follow directions, don't rush, it's a solid fix. Several YT channels with on/off block instructions.

Hubby purchased thru my account and it was scheduled to be delivered 1 week out. GREAT!! We needed it asap, so that was a bummer. Buuuuuut, the seller emailed me the next day and said he would overnight the package since he figured we might need it asap. Hubby was elated! All in all, it works like a gem. Hubby had no issues and the instructions are very simple and easy to follow. 10 stars for product and SELLER. Thank you, again!!

There are some videos out there where people piece together a kit with random pieces from autozone etc. Don't do it. Get this kit and you good to go in an hour. It's got everything you don't know you want and need for this job.

The first time the plug blew out (2011 CVPI, 4.6L V8), I repaired with a heli-coil, which lasted about a year, then blew out again. The Cal-Van insert system is not only easier to install, but I expect the repair to be permanent this time. Well worth the added expense.The reason I rated the instructions at 4 stars is because they are so small, I could hardly read them or see the pictures. There are excellent videos on YouTube that show how to install the inserts. FordTechMakuloco is highly recommended.
