I work in a day care with 3 -9 year olds who love to color. Colored pencils have softer leads than regular pencils, so the regular method of sharpening only resulted in constant broken leads, breaking even when in the process of sharpening. This sharpener came to the rescue! It is easier on softer lead pencils, and reduced the broken leads dramatically!It is a dual sharpener, so you can use on both regular sized pencils and thicker pencils. The shavings go into the enclosed container, which actually stays closed! The sharpeners themselves, swivel inside the enclosure and makes it easier on your wrist to use. I love this sharpener and highly recommend to anyone who uses colored pencils.

Originally I was very satisfied with Bostitch Twist'n Sharp one-hole pencil sharpener because of its compact size as well as its container for carved led and wood. So I thought it would be a good choice to have this one since it can sharpen pencils in two different sizes. But having openings at both ends, it messes up my pencil case by shedding carbon and wood powder if I do not empty the container. Later I found that the blades in Bostitch Twist'n Sharp (both one hole and two holes) are not that durable.

I think this design is genius, Bostich! I have carpal tunnel in both hands, rheumatoid arthritis, and this is a life saver! So easy to use, and doesn't chew up wood, nice sharp point, too! Even on notoriously hard to sharpen colored pencils! I just wish the shavings area was bigger. You need to empty it pretty often, and I hope the plastic hinge holds up. Thankfully, they are pretty reasonably priced, so replacing one won't cost too much. I have not tried these on pastel pencils or extremely soft core colored pencils yet, but it works beautifully on my prismacolors and cretacolor mega pencils. What is also nice about the design is that your pencil goes in pretty far before it sharpens, so it won't fall out if you let go of it, and the pencils fit snugly in the receptacle so they aren't wobbly. All in all, fantastic for price, ease, and performance. Win win with this one

This is thee BEST PENCIL SHARPENER EVER. I'm not getting paid to write this. Works fabulous on pencils or colored pencils. Also worked really well for sharpening my eye liner. A must have household item. I purchased three. Hope this helps you.
