BCW 1-CBF-CUR Comic Book Frame - Current, Price/Each

I got this comic book frame for my son, and he was so excited when I showed it to him. BCW has a great reputation for quality, and this frame lived up to it. The black wood and glass front give it a really sleek look, and it’s sturdy enough to display something truly special. The only snag? My son couldn’t decide which of his collectible comics deserved the spotlight! It’s definitely a great way to show off a favorite while keeping it protected and looking sharp on the wall. Perfect for any comic fan!

I gave this comic book frame 3-stars because, while it’s generally a decent frame, it doesn’t match it’s advertised specs. The one I received came with either an acrylic or polycarbonate sheet, not real glass, and is a freaking mirror where there is direct light, far from being anti-reflective. I don’t care as much about not getting real glass, but I would not have ordered this if I’d known it was not anti-reflective. That said, both acrylic and polycarbonate are naturally UV resistant. The frame itself, at least the one I received, has the expected build quality for a frame at this price level and unique size. My only quibble is that it’s more obvious than I’d like where the corners join. They are not perfectly aligned so you can see a half a millimeter of the bare wood  not noticeable from afar but is when you are standing in front of the frame. I was able to push the corners in to minimize this however. Inserting the comic book is a quick affair. Push up one guard and flip open the backing and place the comic book onto the back of the matboard. If you need remove the comic book there is a cutout at one corner to make it easy to lift out without bending or creasing it which is a nice touch. I’ve attached photos of the back and inside for visual reference. A common hanger is installed at the top of the frame. It’s beefy so no worries about the frame falling down as long as the wall-side hardware is properly installed. The front of the frame, other than the noted “defects” offers a clean, modern look that puts all the attention on the comic book. Bottom line, if this frame actually offered what it advertised, specifically anti-reflective UV-resistant glass it would be a worthwhile purchase. But what I received was not that, especially the anti-reflective part. So at best it’s a middling product, not one I could recommend to friends or family and look them in the eye later on.

This is a fantastic comic picture frame! I'm unsure as to why people are saying it feels like cheap plastic. Mine came and feels like any other solid quality picture frame. It's fits the modern comics perfectly and has a great corner cutout for easy removal to change books when you want. I feel like this is a fantastic option for a really nice framed and matted comic display.
