Tried a generic alternative and huge regrets. The generic caused massive silica spike and of course tons of brown slime everywhere in the tank because of it. Absolutely 0 issues with this product and also 0 regret. I learned my lesson the hard way.

I was not sure about this. Sounds to easy. But I have a reef tank with high nitrates, very high nitrates. While cleaning my sum, I discovered and old mesh bag in the back corner that had some de nitrafier. It sat there for years just building up detritus and other nasty stuff. I cleaned it out real good and place the brick in the flow tray. Still to soon to tell if it actually makes a difference. Will update in a few months

For some reason the brick I purchased was defective. The Brick will float and will not sink down. I wrote an email to customer service and they handled the situation professionally. They answered all my questions and without hesitation they sent me a replacement. I absolutely recommend this brick. I'm using 2 bricks in my tank. I'm using the NO3 totally submerged in the sump (anaerobic) and the Bio Brick I decided to take out of the water and run water through it controlling the flow with a valve .I thank Jack and the whole team for promptly responding. very professional

So far it looks like this is all I will need for a long time. It’s been performing good but it does take a few months to see the results. The good thing is that it keeps in after it starts going.
