Great value for the money. Took me about twenty minutes for me to put together.It's very sturdy was worth the money.

Went to the hardware store to look into making a CD rack. $50 for one(!) oak board. I was looking at $300 to make a CD rack. Saw this thing and couldn't resist. It is “cheap” material, but serves its purpose if you aren't abusing it. Just read the instructions and go slow. I did use wood glue on all the wood dowels to give extra strength. I then built a base to make it a little taller (and make some storage for other things). Turned out so good I bought another! 5 years ago, I would have looked at making my own, but with the cost of everything right now, this is a stellar bargain (at the time of my purchase).

Bought 2 units. The first unit was EXTREMELY difficult to put together as pieces would not stay assembled when the next piece was added. Even with the backing board nailed on, the top and bottom sections were extremely wobbly. Definitely a 2 person job. Putting the first unit together was frustrating enough but then when the 2nd unit was put together the screws came through the top on both the right and left side!!! (See photos.) Would most definitely have returned them but between the thought of disassembling and their weight simply did not make it a logical choice.

While putting together one of the camlocks broke right away. Also the boards were of very low quality and camlocks and screws just ripped right out of the sides. Put plenty of this type of furniture together before and this is probably the lowest quality I've seen.

I purchased one of these intially as a test, since some of the reviews had me a tad skittish over buying it. Once I got it I found the shelf was pretty securely packaged in its box, and once I started building it the process wasn't too bad. I nearly made one small mistep at the start but it was easy to fix before I got any further. Pay close attention to how you have each wood panel arranged, because it DOES matter when you're building it. I think a lot of people's issues were from them not getting the panels to face the correct direction.After I built it and had it up against my wall it was perfect for holding media. The adjustable shelves were nice and I was able to put a lot of manga, DVDs, and VHS tapes on it. One shelf wasn't enough for the amount of media I had to store so I ordered a 2nd one and I put it together more easier than the first shelf. Together they are perfect.I then bought two more a few weeks after that to redo my library and now I have 4 of these things covered in media. I'm very happy with this product and I would recommend it to other people if they need something that's designed for media storage.I gave 4 out of 5 stars for sturdiness because it's a tad 'shakey' when you're trying to move it around to where you want it. Once you get where you need it and fix it in place it's very solid and I've had no issue. Just be careful when you've moving it from room to room after you put it together.
