Many contractors and manufacturers use 3M's VHB tape in place of nails and rivets for an invisible, long-lasting hold. It doesn't dry out and fall apart like most double-sided tapes. This enables it to be used indoors and outdoors.
The 3M RP45 0.4" width and 0.045" (0.8 mm) thickness works perfectly for sealing large panels and other components into large speaker cabinets. The 0.032" thickness becomes almost invisible and in some cases, it may eliminate the need for screws.
