These were easy to assemble!! And surprised me by how solid they are!!! Worth every cent!! Makes a great nightstand!

I bought these to place under the countertop overhang on my kitchen island. The space could be used for bar stool seating but I didn't really need that, I needed pantry storage. I looked at the model that came with baskets and saw many reviews about how the baskets came apart easily. I ordered Closetmaid 10.5 x 10.5 canvas storage cubes instead. Two fit perfectly on each shelf. I also ordered two of these shelving units and screwed them together side-by-side. It looks like a custom unit. I also put self-adhesive felt pads on the feet for easy moving for cleaning. The bookcases seem very sturdy and aren't your typical laminated wood that many unassembled units are. These are real wood. I especially like that all sides of the wood have been sanded and stained so the I didn't get it all assembled and then realize I had the unfinished back edge of the shelves showing in the front. I have had that happen more than once.

I was looking for a small shelf to go in our hallway for my kids books. This shelf is the perfect size to go between their doors without going up too much space.

I got these as night stands and they are awesome and pretty darn sturdy. We have a king-size bed that is pretty high up so I was scared the shelf were gonna be too small but they are at perfect level. I couldn't be happier with these!

I bought this to replace a cheap twenty dollar walmart 3-shelf of roughly the same size (was a little wider/taller) that was falling apart. the finish on this is definitely a cherry espresso. the hardware consists of 12 long screws to attach the shelves, and the back strips are attached with wood dowels. i have a black lamp sitting on the top shelf, and you can tell it has a cherry color to it when you compare the finishes. i love it. the condition was perfect too. i ordered with the free shipping option on a weekend and it arrived on tuesday.

This bookshelf was super easy to assemble. I did it alone in less than 30 minutes (female with little to no construction/carpentry experience). Make sure you review the directions first, sort and layout your pieces, and follow the assembly steps in order.Other folks reported problems with misaligned holes, mismatched colors, scratches, or broken pieces. I did NOT have any problems with damaged or missing parts, the stain on all the pieces matched, and the predrilled holes were aligned perfectly. I suspect that people who had trouble assembling their bookshelf did not follow the instructions in the correct order.

I ordered two of this, and I am really happy with them. I placed them in the kids room and they look nice. I had no trouble putting it together. Simple instructions, and as soon as I saw where everything goes it was easy. I guess some people got unlucky receiving damaged or incomplete. Both of my order are complete and perfectly fine.

We bought a new bed that left us with very limited space for a bedside table on one side. I searched everywhere to find something that would work and this fit the bill. Easy to put together. Looks great and is very sturdy.

I scoured the internet sites for narrow short shelves. I needed 2 shelves to flank our piano so we could store the piano books there. Prior to this, I had them in a square basket, and it wasn't easy to look through the books to find the one I was looking for. So I hunted for shelves and they had to be narrow enough. I got these based on the design and the reviews, and my husband put them together. It took him about 30 minutes, but he's a handy kind of guy. I asked him to rate the ease of assembling them (with 10 being the easiest thing to do) and he said 10, but like I said, he's quite handy. For functionality and looks, I also rate them 10. The price is unbeatable (well, I see price went up from 36 to 54) - and the wood looks very nice; when assembled, they are sturdy, not flimsy. I love the bars on the sides and the back, making them extra functional b/c I can put my books in there without having to use bookends. The bars prevent the books from slipping out on the side. The height and depth are perfect for 9x12 books - those fit just perfectly. I put a vase on the top of one shelf, and picture frames on the other. I've been really happy with these lovely small shelves, and so happy my books are off the floor. Baskets are great sometimes, but I'm trying to minimize a bit when it comes to furniture.

I got two of these and use them as bedside tables with lamps on top shelf, and books on lower two shelves. The flat surface area is smaller than a normal bedside table, but you make up for this with the usable shelf space, if you like to keep books handy for reading or reference at your bedside. Assembly was very easy and quick, and the wood is real and good quality for the price.

Bought as a gift for my mom - she loves it. She said it wasn't particle board or cheap looking and it was sturdy too.

Very pleased with my Winsome shelves! They are sturdy and attractive and come with all necessary hardware. My handyman, who is small, smart, wiry and possessed of phenomenal spatial sense, put together three large and two medium sets in an hour and a half! Some kind of record and only attainable by someone who is physically fit and able to move around easily on the floor. (You have to work on the floor, with the shelves lying on their side like a ladder that has fallen over. When you have the ladder of inner shelves assembled you can lift it upright, turn it upside down, and position it exactly above the top shelf, getting that positioned beneath it and attaching it just right. With the whole structure upside-down that way you can see what you're doing.

This is a really cute shelf. We are using it as a night stand in the spare bedroom with a small lamp and it looks great.
