I've gone through my fair share of cheese boards and presentation plates, and you know what? This may be one of the best ones I've ever used. I say this because of the overall design. The wood grain is smooth yet not glossy, perfect for charcuterie and cheese, and provides a nice strip of contrast for whatever rests on it.. Jam and pate rest easily on it and don't slide about. But most importantly, the handle is a wonderful addition that I didn't anticipate. The thick plastic end not only acts as a great counterweight but also sticks to almost any surface, particularly great if you have a glass top or plastic table. The overall weight of the board does wonders for presentation and feel, and this by no means feels "cheap" or "simple", and certainly doesn't look that way. Recommended.

This is a very attractive cutting board. It's larger than I realized and will make a great serving paddle when company is over. I like the shape and the color of the board, it's pretty.

From a distance, this is beautiful. Looks great hanging on my wall, and is larger than I thought it would be; plenty large enough to do a cheese or other app platter, and I often use it for cutting pizza made in my oven.

The only issue I have with it is that a few of the boards in it are not smooth. In fact, there's enough texture to make it feel as if you might get a splinter. It's important to say I did NOT get splinters, nor does it look like it could give me one. It's more of a rough surface, with lots of little bumps.

Other than that though, I'm really happy with it and it's a great addition to my kitchen.

Works nicely as a charcuterie plate.

Perfect for serving pizza. This is a generally nice serving board. My only complaint is the white end, which looks roughly spray painted. It just ruins the otherwise nice finish. Beyond that, though, this is a great board.

They did a pretty good job (at least on mine - I suspect all are slightly different) at getting this to look like one piece of wood, despite the fact that it is indeed multiple ~1" planks joined together. You can hardly expect a single board of this size, although it would be much appreciated (and obviously cost more).

I don't love the handle. It's either a super-thin rubber coating or just a joined piece of plastic. It just looks a little odd, and the color doesn't fit quite right with the rest of the board.

There are a few super small knots on one side of mine, which do not bother me. It will get used.

First and foremost, this "pizza board" is BEAUTIFUL - the wood is gorgeous, and well worth the price. It wipes down easily, and when needed, you can (hand) wash it... just be sure to put a bit of oil afterwards to protect the finish! This has held up much better than a less expensive pine or oak board I've been using for a few months - which wasn't a big surprise - BUT... there's one thing I prefer on my other paddle - a tapered front. While the symmetry of this one is beautiful, it's not as practical to use to get pizza out of the over - and increases the chances of dinner landing on the floor.

That said, the beauty and quality of this outshines the downside? - and this is a beautiful gift for a housewarming, dinner party gift, or gift for someone you don't know too well.

This seems a bit smaller than I had expected based on the measurements, but the measurements are right.

The item is nicely crafted - I've had boards with bits of rough spots that could sliver a finger, this has none of that. The color is nice, a variation of light and dark, and everything is smooth.

The only downside to a board like this is the maintenance, but it's not onerous or anything. Just maintaining it with some oil once in a while to help keep the appearance and preserve the wood, and it should last a good long time.

Pros:
- This wooden board is made of Beautiful wood, oiled- not varnished, a plus.
- Large square surface area: 13x13
- Includes a leather lanyard so it can hang on the wall and be seen even when not in use.

Cons:
- A bit expensive to just be used as a serving board. I'll be using mine as a cutting board as well.
- The edges are not shaped as elegantly as they should be for a $59 board.

This is definitely a beautiful board. The wood has such warm tones and just enough contrast between light and dark sections without looking too gaudy. In fact, my wife and I decided it is too pretty to use for cutting purposes. We just use it for serving cheese and summer sausage that we cut elsewhere.

As wood cutting boards go, this one seems mighty thin to me. The thinness, combined with the glued-together construction, do not give me a lot of confidence in this board's durability were it to be used for a lot of cutting and also washed frequently with water. And frankly I find the current price of 70 bucks WAY over the top for ANY cutting board. I will let the reader judge their own finances, plus give the benefit of the doubt as far as durability, and let this go with 4 stars. But frankly I would never ever buy this product at that price.

While I would never realistically buy a serving tray of any kind in the $80 range (and probably not even over $20, to be honest), this is most definitely a beautiful one made with lovely materials.

The simple leather handles paired with a high quality board make this an elegant statement piece more than a strictly functional item. In other words, this isn’t wash and wear stuff, nor is it as practical as something more squarish and with a more stable handle system. Rather than being utilitarian, it makes sacrifices by being a bit off balance because of the narrow design in both tray and handles, and because it is obviously not dishwasher safe. Likewise, you’d be wise to use coasters and be mindful of what goes on top of this to avoid staining.

If all the above sounds ok to you, you’ll love this board. If not, then move on to try something else. This is a beautiful, rustic, nature-inspired accent piece perfect for upscale entertaining.

This is a lovely board but will require some maintenance after washing and is a bit pricey for the simple form. I washed it, and the finish was noticeably dulled, a bit of food grade mineral oil brought back most of the sheen.

Personally, I would like the handle to have been left the natural wood. It is just paint and it is a dull color which distracts from the beauty of the wood. But since this is a personal preference, I will not let it impact my rating.

It is a nice size and weight but there are a couple of spots where the grain is a bit rough. At this price point, I would expect a bit more consistency.

Also, there is no grommet in the handle, just a hole which is painted on the inside. It does come with a leather strip which could be used to hang it if you desire.

The cost/value for this board I find a bit lacking, but it is a nice large surface to use for serving.

This is a nice looking board. Its main surface is approximately 8" x 14" (slightly curved), and the handle sticks out another 6". It's about 1/2" thick, so not at all heavy. The wood is richly colored, and I think it would make a very attractive serving board for a couple of wedges of cheese. The only issue for me is that there's a hole drilled into the handle, into which they've inserted a metal grommet. In my experience when wood and metal are in contact with each are and are exposed to water the result is mold. I suspect there's going to an ugly mold ring around that grommet long before the board otherwise wears out. Perhaps super-careful washing will prevent that from happening, but I'm afraid super-careful washing doesn't happen at my house (that's why we can't have nice things!).

Get out your good cutting board oil for the lovely wood - this one's fit for company. It's really big! I bake bread, and this is a wonderful size for slicing a huge loaf. Yes, you can use it for chopping messy things, but I'll probably keep my plastic cutting boards for that - except maybe for serving cheese at a party or something. No dishwasher, it says, and yes, that's the right way. The handle is painted orange and has a hole for hanging.

The Ironwood Gourmet 28674 Large Serving Board with Leather Handles is a high quality, beautiful cutting/serving board. It has handles on the side and the wood is really nice. I use mine for serving cheese/meats and crackers.

This review is for the large rectangular paddleboard.

This is my fourth Acacia wood product from Ironwood Gourmet, going back to March 2012 when I bought my first cutting board and pizza peel from them, followed by a second cutting board and this paddleboard more recently. The pizza peel was pretty much perfect from the start, but the other three (including this paddeboard) needed some light sanding at first followed by a couple of applications of wood oil (I use and really likeHoward BBC012 Butcher Block Conditioner).

All have arrived looking really nice, but the very first washing in warm water with soap (as directed) has brought out some rough patches on the wood, and they definitely look dried out after that first washing. I think that they put some thin outer coating on them to make them look nice at first, but that washes off right away. After a couple of applications of wood oil, though, they look really nice and mine from over five years ago have held up really well.

I dropped this paddleboard down to four stars because, out of the four that I've used, this one has the worst surface grain. Even after sanding it, there are (I'm sure this won't be the right term) open pores/slots on the wood in places that feel rough, shed a bit, and catch on towels. It's not horrible, and I have hope that it'll improve with some more oil treatments, but it is a detractor after having such good luck with their other products.

I do like the size of the paddleboard for serving food, and the handle is a good size, too. It's very easy to transport around with a comfortable grip. Plus, it has a metal insert in the handle with a hole for hanging up if you want.

Overall, a good product, but the wood quality isn't as nice as I've experienced with their other products.

This is a lovely wooden cutting/serving board. The square surface measures 13" X 13" and the handle is 4.5" long and approximately 1.5" wide. It's of a much lighter weight than my other wooden boards. And a nice touch is that the handle has a grommet to allow you to hang the board for storing or when air drying it after washing.

It's made of acacia wood, aka thorntree, and is a very practical substitute for higher priced hardwoods such as walnut or maple. And acacia is a nonendangered species and is not harvested from rainforests. Not to mention that the wood grain is striking and very pleasing to the eye.

Because it is so pretty, I intend to use it more as a serving board than as a food prep cutting board. Too much hard chopping on it might make it less attractive as a server and since I have several other wooden boards that I use for food preparation, I'm saving this one for dinners and parties.

Only one thing keeps this from being a 5-star product for me and that's something that perhaps shouldn't be mentioned, but I think it matters. Acacia is one of the economical hardwoods being used to make cutting boards but the price of this does not reflect that economy.

Nice cutting/serving board. It seems to be of adequate size to serve a small amount of cheese and crackers to guests. I do like the look of this as a server. Its light weight and seems durable. It seems a little on the high end price wise for similar boards. It has a grey serving handle which i would have preferred left in its natural wood but the color still looks nice. I will follow care and cleaning instructions and update as needed.

This is a nice and attractive serving platter or cutting board. It's thick and heavy duty and could be used for both. It does have a few rough spots on it, so I'm going to get some fine grain sandpaper as suggested. It's really well constructed though and one solid piece of wood from what I can see. Overall, really attractive and versatile. I'll use it often.

The wood was beautiful but it was way too small for what I needed. I returned it.
