This has extended our swimming season! I was a little skeptical with the 10 - 15 deg claim but it really does work. We have a 16x32 pool, 5.5ft on the deep end. When we first got it, daytime temps were in the mid 80's, nights in the low 60's. Pool temp was getting down to 78 - 80 uncovered, too cool for DW, a bit refreshing for me.After 3 days of keeping the pool covered the pool temp was up to 90 deg... absolutely brilliant! This week the temps have been in the mid to high 70's, nights from 48 - 53 and the pool is STILL 86 deg and swimmable.Since the cover is translucent, we keep it on during the daytime and always cover it back up after swimming. I run the pump with it on and there is no problem with doing that.Another benefit is that it reduces the amount of top off water needed to keep the pool full. We could see the mist rising off the pool after the sun went down and the amount of water vapor rising was incredible, especially on these cool, relatively dry nights here in SC. We've only had to put water in once in the past 3 weeks.I haven't installed the reel yet but it is no problem pulling it out of the pool. I'll put it on the reel next year and just fold it up for this winter.I have no idea how long it will last so jury's still out on that one, but even if it only lasts 3 years it's worth every penny!
