Manufacturer Part Number: 19001

3oz (90ml) glass bottle of Noodler's Black (Bulletproof) fountain pen ink. Noodler's inks are handcrafted, so there may be slight color variations from batch to batch.

Noodle's benifits:

"Freeze Resistant Inks" include Polar Blue and Polar Black, which will resist forming a solid mass of ice within a glass ink bottle during most cold weather conditions (though they will form some harmless ice "slush" when very cold). The first "Polar" ink was "freeze proof" to -114° F, but the reformulated Polar inks made from 2006 and later have a faster dry time, better flow rate, and are basic "freeze resisting" inks to avoid expansion barrel cracks in pens and broken bottles in mail boxes on cold days. They is no guarantee "never to freeze regardless of the temperature" but, they are made to resist the damaging expansion that water based products can be subject to when exposed to freezing temperatures and harsh winter weather.

"Eternal" refers to any Noodler's Ink that resists the effects of time moisture, humidity, UV light, acids, water exposure, and many common detergents such as dish soaps and household ammonia, as well as alcohols and acetone (which conventional ball point pens have no resistance to often rinsing off a newly written check within 8 seconds of being washed with acetone). Many Noodler's inks such as "eternal" and "bulletproof" inks are made with the ideal of reaching out as far into immortality as the written word permits us to reach the only way to speak to future generations remains the written word durably made upon the page (a VCR tape is simply not as durable or as universally readable through time!).

"Bulletproof" refers to any Noodler's Ink that resists all the known tools of a forger, UV light, UV light wands, bleaches, alcohols, solvents, petrochemicals, oven cleaners, carpet cleaners, carpet stain lifters, and of course they are also waterproof once permitted to dry upon cellulose paper. Some inks are more bulletproof than others generally in descending order (most bulletproof with the most testing to less bulletproof): blacks, blues, yellows, invisible ("blue ghost" and "White Whale"), greens, browns, purples, reds .all are equally bulletproof with one exception: the resistance to strong industrial bleaches to the point where the paper structure itself decomposes. Reds are prone to more fading when exposed to strong bleaches (sometimes fading to a yellow) than the other colors.

All Noodler's Polar Inks are also classed as "Bulletproof", as well as such inks as "Lexington Gray", "Black", "Heart of Darkness", "Golden Year of the Pig", "Hunter Green", "Luxury Blue", "X-Feather", and "Fox Red". Worldwide (including custom issue inks specific to certain countries or individual retailers) there are now more than 220 "bulletproof" and partially bulletproof (mixed ink formulations) Noodler's Inks. References to ink properties are generally printed upon the labels (with the exception of "X-Feather" which is a white label issue with very little text).
Water resistant vintage style ink: "Baystate Blue" (this ink is not resistant to UV light or bleaches).

Product FAQ
*IF THE INK IS WATERPROOF, DO YOU NEED TO USE SOMETHING OTHER THAN WATER TO CLEAN YOUR PEN?
No. Cleaning a pen is easy. It is only waterproof on cellulose based products. Examples for these products are cellulose paper, cotton (90%), and wool (50%). Be careful not to get this ink on clothing. Do not be concerned with getting this ink on the skin. It will wash off with soap and water. This is a great ink.

*IS IT IN A GLASS OR PLASTIC BOTTLE?
Very nice glass bottle

*LAMY SAID MY LEAK COULD BE BECAUSE OF THIS INK. ANY OTHER LAMY OWNERS EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM?
I've never had an issue with that particular combination, or any other pen. I've been using bulletproof black in my lamy for half a decade now it seems, and everything has flowed perfectly.

*CAN YOU USE THIS FOR PELIKAN FOUNTAIN PENS?
This is the only ink I use in my pens. The one I use most often is a Pelikan M215 with a 14K gold nib. Haven't had any problems. I clean it out every once in a while because the ink builds up in the nib, just as it would on any other fountain pen.

*I RECEIVED THIS INK AND IT SEEMS LIKE MORE OF A LIGHT BROWN THAN A BLACK. DOES THIS MATCH WITH OTHERS' EXPERIENCE? I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING DARKER.
Be sure to shake the bottle. Some of the colorants settle to the bottom. Most inks are like that. My experience was a very black, very good ink.

*DOES THE INK DRY QUICK ENOUGH FOR ME TO USE IT FOR NOTES?
Using normal notebook paper should work fine for notes.

*DOES IT WORK WITH PLATINUM CARBON DESK FOUNTAIN PEN? I'M CONCERNED ABOUT CLOGGING?
I use it with several Mont Blanc pens, no problem, but I clean then regularly

*CAM THIS WORK WITH A BRUSH PEN?
I use this ink for Noodler's brush pen. It works OK.

*HI! I WAS WONDERING IF THIS TYPE OF INK WOULD BE GOOD FOR LEFT HANDERS? DOES IR DRY QUICK?
It may depend on how fast your paper soaks it up. I am right-handed and use this ink on paper that is slightly heavier than printer paper and I have sometimes smeared it while writing.

*IS THIS WATERPROOF ON WATERCOLOR PAPER? IT IS 100% COTTON? IF NOT, CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND AN INK FOR FOUNTAIN PENS THAT IS???
I just tested it on some 100% Cotton paper I have here and it definitely stays. No bleeding, even by a fibre. I've found it better than Diamine Waterproof (which is more water-resistant than water-proof).

*DOES THIS INK BLEED THROUGH PAPER?
Totally depends on the paper and the pen from my experience. But overall It behaves very well on most papers. Unless you're using very fine paper..like a regular Moleskine ..it will bleed some. On printer paper no bleed. On a yellow legal pad..some bleeding..but I believe this is true for 90% of fountain pen ink.

*IS IT WATERY? I REMEMBER I BOUGHT BOTTLED INK (DON'T REMEMBER THE BRAND) AND IT WAS REALLY WATERY, LIKE IT HAD BEEN DILUTED AND IT WAS GREY NOT BLACK.
I have found it to hold a dark black color from start to finish after filling my cartridge. I enjoy using it for the reason it doesn't smear and doesn't wash out if water is applied.

It's pretty waterproof as far as I can tell and writes well. It doesn't gum up my fountain pen at all. However, it does take a little bit of time to dry, as expected. Also, erasing on top of this ink is a no go no matter how long I wait for it.

This ink is very pigmented and is great in my fountain pen. I absolutely love it. I took a chance on this brand on reviews alone. This is my first refillable fountain pen and I love it. It does not leak through and does not bleed.

This is a great ink. Even fully submerged in water for minutes at a time it doesn't smear or disappear. I'd expect the paper to degrade before the ink. Dry times are pretty fast as well.

Absolutely wonderful! Smooth, quick drying ink. I didn't expect any miracles, but after filling my fountain pen cartridge with this ink, I started writing and didn't want to stop. I've tried all sorts of fountain pen inks, but this ink is the best.
