Oiled the board the minute I got it and the first time I used it, the knife cuts raised up and made the surface rough. So, I sanded it and oiled it several times and let it soak in good but the next time I used it, the same result. It shouldn't be called Ironwood, butterwood would be a better description. It is way too soft to hold up to prolonged use and I won't be sanding and oiling after every use. Plus, it is a good bacteria host.
