Whenever possible, I try to buy products made the the USA over foreign imported products. Made in USA keeps Americans working and it usually implies a quality product. I recently purchased an E-Z Red hydrometer for my car battery and also one for my car's coolant. I can't speak for the accuracy because at present I don't have a reference to compare them to, but the build quality is not very impressive on either of the E-Z Red tools. Also, the float on coolant hydrometer tends to stick and I have to shake the tool until I think it is where it is supposed to be. I know how to use these tools, but for someone who is not familiar with their operation they'll have to use Google for instructions because there are none included with either tool. I have a refractometer coming which I plan to use as a reference against the E-Z Red hydrometers. If there is a discrepancy, I will update this review.

As a former Auto Shop Owner, I am very happy with this Hydrometer, have had it since 2010 and only use it for my personal Vehicles, it still works great and will use it tommorrrow to achieve a 50/50 mix in my Van where I just Flushed and am renewing the Coolant...

Hard to find and kind of a necessity here in Alaska cause just the basic 50/50 coolant will freeze below -34. Need to do a mixture of at least -60.

This model is so professional and indeed easy to read for my senior citizen eyes even without glasses checking under the hood. Everyone should have one to be sure you have that 50-50 mixture of coolant in the engine for the cold days of winter and the hot days of summer. Easy to use and to read. An inexpensive investment in your vehicle's engine to keep it running properly and avoid costly engine repairs.
