Looks like the same Chinese company is making most of them. My particular sample was identical to the ones Academy Sports sells but the plating was a little nicer. These bars are a little less than one inch in diameter. Academy's one inch weights are a little more than one inch in diameter. All of this equals a really sloppy loose fit.

The inside threading has little imperfections that mean you can't screw it more than a quarter inch.

These are a solid design without a doubt. Keep in mind though, that they are already 3.8 lbs unloaded each. Throwing off you weight math is the price of a solid product.

I already own one of the sets of handles from the same brand with plates and handles included in a set. But I decided I wanted a second set of handles to be able to switch quickly between a couple different weights in a workout. In the original set, the collars have a little screw that supposedly keeps the handle from slipping, but these don't have that. However, I've never had the collars on these ones get loose, but on the original set they do come a bit loose after awhile. So I actually prefer these handles slightly, but they are otherwise exactly the same as the handles that come in the set. I love these weights for their value and solid construction! And no plastic parts!
