Just received three of them. Great product. Only complaint is that it's a lot of work with the allen wrench and some of the screw heads got stripped so I had to replace. However, great quality and price.

I bought the 29 inch stool and cut it down shorter (I'm the one who asked what height stool is best for a 36 inch counter). They offer 24 and 29 inch heights, but it seems like 24 inches would be too short. I experimented with an office chair and a plastic box, and decided that 26 inches would be best for me. The Pottery Barn version of this stool is 27 inches, so I ended up making mine 26 1/2. Doing this was tricky because the bottom of the legs are angled in two directions. I used a sliding T bevel to copy the angles, and then very carefully adjusted my table saw. It worked out well. Although the stool wobbles a little, we have ceramic tile and, where I intend to use it, it doesn't wobble at all. Assembly is pretty easy as long as you're careful to put the legs with painted dots on opposite corners. The ends of the stretchers are also angled so that the narrow part goes at the top. I used glue on the stretchers to keep them from turning when I put my feet on them. If you do this, lay out all your parts and work quickly before the glue sets up. A couple of other tips--protect your floor by cutting open the box and laying it out flat; and it's easier to use a socket wrench with a head designed for hex screws. This is a good quality stool, and the price is even better. The finish on it is also nice because it seems pretty moisture resistant. The only defect I saw was that one of the pegs on the stretchers was apparently too long and didn't go in all the way. I probably could have sawed or sanded it down if I'd noticed in time.

Stools are sturdy, but I did have to go to the hardware store to purchase better screws. The packaged screws were difficult to screw fully into the wood and many of the screw heads stripped with little pressure. I am pretty handy, but found the screws difficult work with. All in all, the finished products are sturdy.

My hubby put these stools together in no time at all. He used wood glue as suggested by other reviewers. They are sturdy and look great! I ordered four 29 inch stools for our kitchen island. They fit great. Definitely ordering more the for the billiards room.

Excellent stools for the money! I am using them outside at my tiki hut, but I am not leaving them outside to weather the heat and rain. Wood does not last outside, no matter how much you weather proof it!

Love the stool, very sturdy and nice looking piece of furniture...I have standing tremors and this stool comes in handy to put next to the stove when I want to do some cooking, it sure have been a big help to me and rate it five stars. Mentioned it to others with the same challenge and they are going to order .

Purchased 3 of these for daily use at our breakfast bar. Easy to assemble, attractive design, and the price was right. Our 2 young children are comfortable on them with no falls yet (knock on wood) unlike swivel stools, even those with backs. Saddle style seat is very comfortable and our larger (200+ lb) friends find them comfortable as well.Unfortunately the finish on the leg supports is already rubbing off (see those 4 bars running perpendicular to the legs) where our feet rest. We don't wear shoes in the house so it's not like they receive a lot of friction.Also the stools are becoming wobbly. It's a matter of prying out all the little screw caps and re-tightening each joint, probably 20 min of effort, but it's already been done once and we've owned them less than a year. Since they're not swivel or height-adjustable like our former bar stools, I guess I expected them to remain sturdy over time.Overall, 4 stars as they are a nice design and fit our remodel budget. If you're looking for something that will last a lifetime, either try some wood glue to reinforce the joints, or expect to spend a lot more on higher quality stools.
