The magnet is strong, the shaft is flexible, but strong enough to keep the shape you give it.The flexibility will ultimately lead to fracture if you do not treat it with care, but by then, it will have paid for itself several times over, in time saved.I also tried the one with the copper shaft, and the Empire pick-ups. They do not come close to the Ulman 14X

It does what it's supposed to. Other guys at my shop swear by these and they deliver. Makes getting those dropped bolts a breeze and saves time, plus you don't have to scrape yourself up jamming your hands into an engine bay.
