Sturdy handle with a solid grip and feel. I used it for a smaller hatchet head and had to file it down quite a bit to get it to fit. It includes a wooden wedge and 2 metal wedges. I used the metal ones, and the head is going nowhere. Works perfectly and is a great replacement handle for a hatchet or ax. My hatchet works like new. Actually a little better than new since it has a little more heft now. FYI, my favorite hatchet is Molly, and my favorite axe is Lilian in case you were wondering.

A nice sturdy handle. Size of top may be too large for some hatchets, but I was able to sand it down easily. Comes with a shim.

The shape of the handle head fit my metal hatchet opening very well. Very pleased with the results. I was a bit surprised the the wooden handle came with two metal expansion wedges. The advertised product does not show these or mention them, at least I didn’t read about them in the description.

My Truper handle broke after many years of use. I came here and entered my model stamped on the steel head and this handle came up. As you can see, the handle is much wider than the opening in the head. I don't see any others with a smaller diameter neck. I'm hoping that Truper can help on this one.

Way too large, by more than an inch, to fit on the eye of the hatchet. Eye dimensions in the product listing would be most helpful

At large corporate big brand stores you can buy the handle or a brand new axe at the same price. This one is well made and affordable.

My only complaint was the wood wedge angle. My head fitting was quite tight after shaping, to save time we just lightly cut the slot wider with the bandsaw.

Great for the money. Fit well after a little whittling down and the use of the wooden wedge in the slot. Also came with two metal wedges which I did not use. The grain was straight and running lengthwise. I sanded of the finish and coated it in boiled linseed oil and it looks nice.

The handle hole in my hatchet head was much smaller than the handle. I had to do some extensive sanding before it fit, but it does fit and works well. I used my old steel wedge rather than the wooden ones supplied with the handle, I felt more secure that it’d stay put.

This is what you need to replace your broken hatchet handle. Made from very strong tight grain hardwood. You may need to shape this handle to fit your ax head. I recommend using epoxy cement in addition to the expansion wedges to secure the handle to the ax head.
