I use this thermometer for my aquarium. It has been unusually cold so I wanted to check if the heater could keep up with the cold at night. It records the min/max temp for a 24 hour period starting and ending at midnight, and it resets daily. The main temp has one decimal point, for instance 74.8. The min max only has whole numbers. The picture of the sticker of the thermometer is not correct. It only says in or out next to the main display, it does not show in or out next to the min/max display. When you push the top button, it toggles between in or out temp (both the main display and the min/max). I don't like the button battery, I would have preferred a AAA battery. I don't know how long the battery will last. For the probe that inserts into the water, I put a small piece of plant lead weight on it to give it more weight to sink. To keep the wire straight in the water, I cut a small piece of plastic straw and slip it over the wire.

We use this when traveling to check refrigerator temperature and room temperature or outside temperature. There is no off switch and battery dies between trips.

I bought this to have outdoor weather conditions viewable from my desk. The remote sensor is now mounted under the roof soffit of our 1-story home, outbid the rain and sun so it reads correctly. We live on a hill that is 900 ft above sea level and the station reads the barometric pressure here, but as we are higher than sea level, that lower pressure causes it to display rain! Too bad that there is no way to adjust the reading to compensate for our altitude. The other readings are fine. It does include a time link to WWV-B but as our home has a metal roof the unit cannot seem to lock onto the signal to lock in the time reading.

I like how large the display temperature numbers are, I can as soon as I open the door.

I have two of these and they have been accurate (tested against two separate mercury thermometers) and reliable. I will lower the star rating if anything changes.
