I have no experience with "real" flight suits, so all I can do is review this item, without drawing comparison to anything other than my Dickies coveralls. I ordered two -- a small and a medium. I am 5'7", 150lbs. The small was snug in the chest and shoulders, so the medium regular was a better fit. The only flaw that I need to remedy is the Velcro closure on the left shoulder pocket. The Velcro is sewn in such a way that it interferes with a pen or tool being fully inserted into the pocket. Also, the Velcro is a little low on the pocket. I'll have to modify that in order to make full use of that pocket. Pant legs were a little long. I wear a short suit jacket, so I suppose that a "short" version would be nice to have in this item. I haven't washed it, yet. Noticed a lot of stray threads shedding throughout the day as I wore it at work over the weekend. Compared to the Dickies coveralls, this one is more comfortable, probably because the material is lighter/thinner.<br />My intended use of this item is at work, where the workroom is kept pretty cold. I live in Texas, and on a hot day I don't want to bundle up before work. So, I will dress comfortably for the drive in to work, then slip on the flight suit for my twelve-hour shift in the chilly workroom, and back off (I'll wear shorts and a t-shirt under it) for a comfy drive back home. Not a bad price for an apparel item that solves the problem of being cold at work. For fun, I'll adorn it with a bunch of embroidered patches.
