Didn't reach as far as I wanted so I bridged it with 150 feet of ethernet to where I mounted this thing. From there I get about 100 feet of wifi into a metal building. Works great if a door is open. Tried 4 types in this price point. It does it's job. Oh, and the instructions were a little hard to understand for us non techies.

People either love or hate the shape. Mine is 12 feet up so few people actually see it. Everyone who visits comments on the WiFi performance. Will try the 610 v2 for the primary suite. We work from home and the access point has no problems with multiple VPN, video calls, lap tops, TV's, etc.

Twist the antennas so they pivot into each other and not split apart in the wind. Keeps reception going strong.

I select and promote TP-Link products like this indoor EAP225 AC1350 Wireless Access Point to all my customers because of the excellent Technical Support one can always count on regardless of the age of this quality product. At times I recycle repurpuse slightly used equipment to solve client issues. I can count on the Tech Support staff at TP-Link to guide me through a streamlined process to reprogram the WAP with a revised SSID Password for both Wi-Fi signal bands. Anne Lucilo offered verbal instructions followed by detailed articles and videos on a practical configuration procedure. Anne's tech support is typical example of what I have experienced from TP-Link over many years. Her follow up afterwards to ensure that I was successful is much appreciated. I would highly recommend TP-Link, especially their Home Business solutions for network applications because of the long-term timely Tech Support like Anne's and others on staff. John Lorens

Backyard, Frontyard right side, left side A Strong Signal Everywhere. This device was easy to install and started working as soon as I turned it on, of course I had to do a little setup to link it into my network, instructions were easy to follow. No problems at all. Have it on the covered back porch off of the living room. Devices in the living room and kitchen attached to the Access Point immediately, no problem. The wall between the AP and living room is insulated and the signal is still a lot stronger than the ATT router in the office. Those Devices would connect but the signal was always weak. No longer a problem.

The instruction is too overwhelming with various ways to set up theAccecc EAP225. It lacked directness and simplification for my set up.Tech support was very comforting and able to help me set up in 5minutes as I personally spent 2hrs between instruction, videos andother tutorials in efforts to get it to work.

I will try a different POE injector. I suspect it is the injector limiting throughput. I have a 2.5G network which even lower end devices can typically get several 100M throughput. I don't have the first camera to test with yet. Hopefully I can get at least 100 feet with this and still support live video. But, out of the box, far from even 1G. (I wish more cameras did 5G WIFI. It seems only the top end at hundreds of dollars are there, and they all need power. I want battery/solar. That' the whole point of WIFI and modern security.) Sort of optimistic this will do the job.UPDATE: Tried different injector. No improvement even in ideal conditions. Bottom line, this does not come close to max 2.4GHz throughput of 300M. Expect less than 100 (about 30M to 60M). This should be sufficient for most video applications. I've observed -16db very close to the device outdoors. While only 50 feet away it drops to about -60db. Not great, but, also not expensive. It's not professional grade. So be it. I hope to get at least a year or two out of this device. Fingers crossed.

This product was a little tricky to set up. I got good support from Marie at tech support and managed to get it operating well. Happy to have my wifi extended to enable my work from home.

I've bought and installed several of these at our motel and our RV Park It is a phenomenal outside AP for the $$. And because it is NOT netgear, very easy to set up. Plug it in, link to it, then go to the URL in the instructions and set it up!The last one I bought didn't go outside. For our airbnb we wanted a hidden AP. We took the LAN cable at the 4' high box/cover, hooked it onto the EAP225 and hung it inside the wall and put the cover plate back on. With POE, the power is at our main junction box for all lan cables, out of site.

I have a rather complicated topology. The internet signal goes from the modem to the main router in a mesh that I have covering my house. From the main router I have a hardwire to a POE ethernet switch which then connects to two other routers in the mesh and one EAP outdoor access point that's on my roof. The point was to get wifi to a second house on my property about 150 ft away. Unfortunately, the construction of the house made for a very poor Wi-Fi signal inside. I mounted a second EAP225-outdoor on the roof of that second house and using the Omada software controler, meshed them together. Then I hardwired a connection from that second EAP to a router inside the second building. It's working beautifully.TO RECAP: Modem to hardwired mesh using POE switch in Building A and also hardwired to exterior EAP225. Then wireless EAP225 to EAP225 mesh connecting Buildings A and B. Then hardwire from second EAP to router/access point inside building B.The configuration of the Omada controller was a little tricky, but the TP-Link customer service people for EAP are great. They stayed on the phone with me as long as it took to have everything working properly. So far the connection has been very stable and though I'm really using the EAPs primarily as a bridge, I have wifi all over my property outdoors, which is great. It's been a few months and I only had to reset the devices once and this was after a hurricane. Hopefully, we won't get too many of those.

the tplink eap 225 access point i have works great. i have it hooked to a tplink tl-sg 1005p 5 port poe. saw it on youtube video. it is hooked to 225 ft internet cable. and from wireless reaches out about 300 ft to a porch on another house. i get about 25 to 40 on2.4 and up to 70 mb on 5ghz. and 11.5 mb up. clear path and i am pretty surprised it works so well. I get about 450mb down at my router. 12 up. Once I knew it all worked well I I put a metal t-post. And an adjustable bracket to put the out door eap225 and zeroed in on the eap stuck to the window of the building. And it works great.
