This small gripper is the second one we've ordered. The first one lasted over two years. It's a very useful tool for picking up just one filter from a tightly packed stack.

It is impossible, by hand, to retrieve a single basket coffee filter. They stick together and it takes me several tries to get a single filter. With the Filter Separator I just reach down into the stack of filters, squeeze the tongs together, and they grab a single filter every time. The downside is that previous tongs I have bought break. However, the tongs make grabbing a single filter so much easier, I will put up with breakage, and just buy several tongs at a time. My nerves are worth more than the modest cost of these tongs.

I love this little tool. My mom had one back in the day and I've looked for years to find this. It works great. One tipwhen you first get it, scuff up the rubber tips a little. Otherwise they are so smooth they can't grip the coffee filter.
