I have been looking for a slicer since I am a small business owner. We do a lot of our own flyers and handouts; and it doesn't look professional when they are hand cut with scissors. We've been looking to up grade to a slicer and I ended up ordering this one. Read the review that it was dull or wouldn't. Problem is you can't go slow with it. If your trying to inch the blade down your going to just fold the paper. Line it up, clear the fingers and bring it down in one fluid movement. It have cut smoothly every time so far. A great buy, great price, and major improvement in our quality. Looking professional is a big factor in people ordering from you. An not paying hundreds our to a print shop when you can do it at home helps a lot. This is a key piece to that equation.

This thing is very strong and heavy. I used it to cut up magnetic sheets and it did a swell job. I don't recommend using it for more than 2 magnetic sheets or about 5 regular papers at a time. But, for this price it does a fine job.

Excellent. High quality. Cuts perfectly. The wood is press board but the markings are clear and in both English and metric.

Nice size. Safety latch for cutting arm (believe it or not all brands do not offer this). Would buy again.

I am heavily into paper crafts, and I am terrible at trying to make clean cut with scizzors!! I got a little extra money, and decided to splurge on this cutter, and I have not been disappoionted.

Alright I was researching these things for a while trying to find a good one, and there were many posts about these things not cutting straight or whatever.I got this and lo-and behold the paper wasn't being cut straight- BUT WAIT.All I did was change where I was cutting from, instead of hunched over a coffee table, I did it standing at a desk and things were cutting perfectly. It's just about angling and possibly pushing the paper too hard against the top leaving the paper to get angled a bit. It's user error, it's a straight blade that comes right down- not much to go wrong except if you are leading the bar and bending it a bit.The one issue I had was when moving it about, one of the rubber feet dropped off, another kinda got slid off, however that's from moving this thing around, which it wasn't meant to be doing. It cuts paper, not a boat load at a time but it does the job.

Does what it is advertised but would like a better scale on it. If you push the handle toward the base as you cut to get a nice straight edge it can hang up on the metal. Just don't push too hard against the base when you cut but do give a little pressure so your cuts is perfect.

This Swingline ClasicCut Pro Guillotine Trimmer is a good product. It makes accurate, clean cuts and is easy to operate. It is also light weight for transporting.

This cutter has served me well the last 3 years. Only problem is it is slightly skewed on the top so pages might not be at a perfect 90 angle or a perfectly straight cut.

Bought this papercutter for the office. I'm glad it has a guard to protect fingers as it is very sharp. It is a very sturdy papercutter.

I took a chance when I ordered it. Had never heard of this product, even though I taught art for 35 years and used a variety of paper cutters. I needed a smaller cutter for my studio. Took it from package on arrival and began using it immediately. The blade is scary sharp, precise in measurement and works perfectly for my needs. Easy to store and keep out of way of children.

This one works very well. It comes with a bar thing that you have to slide paper under before you cut it though, which I don't like, but I might be able to take it off.

The measurements on the trimmer were perfect. The blade was straight and very sharp; I like the locking feature. Overall, the weight of the trimmer was decently distributed; it is a bit top heavy, but did not affect my ability to easily use it.

Speaking, IN the spirit of Ebenezer Scrooge, for someone that cut the tip of [my] left thumb clean-off with a U.S.Army deluxe model ---with-out --- a thumb-guard: "Bah!......You NEED the thumb-guard. If you actually have a projuct that requires "closer up" work...use scissors! It's dangerous a-n-ddumb (for yourthumb) to disable the guard-rail!"

All in all this item is very good. I am slightly disappointed that it always doesn't cut straight...even when I make sure that I hold the paper firmly and pull the handle down and inward. But it does cut through multiple sheets of paper. It seems to stay sharp and it was shipped quickly. Not bad for what I paid for it I guess.

Good cutter for the price. I would buy it again. Sturdy. Everything they said it was. If you want a small affordable cutter, this is the one. Very reliable.

i do some scrapbooking and card making and i love this trimmer. im more concerned with how fine a cut than with how many sheets it can cut. this cutter will cut the finest of slivers without creasing the paper...just a nice sharp edge. when i lift the arm, the base does not lift up on me and my cuts have been perfectly square. i would buy another.
