I now own two of these, one for my home studio, and one for my regular studio. I initially purchased this 4 years ago for use at home(a small 1bdrm condo), mostly because it looked nice, and I didn't want a more traditional drafting table cluttering up my main room. However, when I rearranged my area at the studio where I share space with 24 other artists, I decided it was time for a second one.As an illustrator, I am constantly at my desk, and having the adjustable tabletop is great! I can get it to just the right angle so I'm not hunched over my work. And when I want to do work on my laptop and Cintiq, I can make the surface flat or almost flat so they don't fall off the desk. I can even stick a light under the table surface and use it as a lightbox if I need to trace something.Having the shelf and the magnet/cork board is also great. I can easily hang character sheets or other reference within easy view, and it doesn't get in the way of the pages I'm working on on the desk's surface. Plus, I can put some toys, models, or even a small plant on the shelf to personalize my space without taking up a lot of square-footage! Very nice when space is limited. This unit is also not as deep as a traditional drafting table, so it doesn't take up as much floor space, allowing it to work well in places a normal table wouldn't. O course, this also means the table surface is too small to fit my laptop AND an 11"x17" page, so I have to put my laptop on the shelf if I'm drawing on large paper(which has had the unintentional but nice side-effect of keeping me off the internet while I'm working!).My only real complaint is that this thing is no picnic to put together! Some of the instructions are less than clear, and I feel like if I hadn't been paying attention, I would have put some parts together wrong. Definitely swore A LOT while building this. However, you can do it by yourself if you need to(I did both times!), just know you're in for an hour or two of screwing things in, and maybe get yourself a glass of wine.;)Pros:-Has a lot of storage options for you stuff so you can keep it out of the way, and stay organized!-Very reasonable price for what you get-Attractive and functional design-Compact unitCons:-Kind of a pain to put together-Table surface not as large as a regular drafting tableLong story short, I love this thing, and it makes working a pleasure. Plus my studiomates are envious of my rad set-up! If you need an attractive unit that packs a lot of versatility into a small space, this is for you!
