I received mine thru the VA along with a wireless smoke and CO2 detector, door bell button, and bed shaker. Phone line notification available. Multiple fire alarms can be added as well as a 2nd doorbell. Only draw back is in placement. I have mine in the living room where I spend most of my time. If you're in bed you will not see the flashing strobe for any covered extras, use the alarm clock or bedshaker. A 2nd base is needed for the bedroom which can be interconnected with the 1st unit wirelessly. Very easy to install if you follow the easy directions. Additional fire alarms can be added as well. As well as the bright strobe light it also emits a audio alarm . A bit pricey but well worth it. I have a second unit coming to cover the bedroom area.
