5/8 line will fit, but it’s a struggle to get threaded. I found the easiest way to do this was to cut the end of the rope or line, and wrap the tip tightly with some duct tape. Add a little bit of dishwasher soap to the tip and have a pair of needle nose pliers handy. Once threaded they work great. Half inch line is easy to thread but it seems to chew up the ends. I’ve only had them up for a week and they’re working great but I’ll update this on the reliability later. Dark lines don’t last forever, and I don’t expect these to either.

I use 4 of them on a sailboat and 2 on a 50' houseboat. Those on the sailboat have been there since 2004, and are now showing signs of wear. The 2 on the houseboat have been there for 4 yrs, still soft, no cracks and doing the job.

I read the reviews. Obviously, the negative reviews did not install correctly. Go to their website and watch the video on how to install. I have 5/8 line and yes tight but easy to assemble if you watch the video and done right they work Great!
