I like that I did not have to buy a complete second rod holder when I only troll with one pole at a time. But for the price, Scotty needs to include the mounting hardware. Thus 4 stars.

out fitting my kayak for fishing now with two rod holders. so far this one works great in less fear of the holder popping out with the other type base. that is just a swivel lock in place. this one has the button to grip the rod holder and won't come out until you press the button and pull.

love these over the non locking, dont even know why the would make them non locking'? makes me want to toss my older non locking ones.

This thing is the cat's meow. Holds my Lowrance depth finder with Scotty mount like a champ. Fastened it to aluminum using revnuts and stainless bolts.

It was too tall for install with 3/16 blind rivets on a kayak with no access underneath that area of the deck, so I had to get a flush mount one instead. Luckily the hole pattern was the same. I had put silicone all over this already, so will use on the fishing boat somewhere.

So far all Scotty parts I have seem great. I would rate the locking part of this but I received the 241bk instead of the 241Level bk I ordered. I will still use this as the rod holder still fits snug but I wanted a locking style to mount my fish finder on.
