Holds my Garmin 9V just fine. It did move slightly when I slammed the boat through a big wake, but I was being pretty rough on it. Overall feels very solid and well made. Would buy again if I needed another.

Got one of these for my Garmin 93sv on the front deck of my boat. Works great, love the adjustability, and it does move regardless of how rough the waters are.

I haven't installed it yet. Still waiting on the Lowerance Hook 7. It looks plenty sturdy enough to handle it. For the $$ I think it'll be worth it. I'll add to this review after I get the Hook 7, Install it, and run it on the lake.

Does the job. Holds my Lowrance HDS 7 on bow pretty good but a little wobbly. The clamp between balls isnt as rigid as a RAM mount that i have on console that holds an HDS Gen3 9 wich is very firm and steady. Good product for money. Just dont go much bigger than maybe 7 to 9 unit.

Very well made. This is my 2nd purchase of the Scotty Ball Mount. I bought the 2 1/4 for a 12 inch Lowrance and the smaller (1 1/2) one for 2 fish finder on the bow. They are well built with Stainless hardware. If needed I would not think twice in getting another. I would recommend.

I bought this to mount a Garmin 93sv UHD because I read it would fit and be suitable for it. Overall it is fine but a little shaky when running 25 mph and up on the boat. Another note I'll add is due to the composite plastic material it is a bit difficult to tighten and loosen at times almost like it sticks. I'd say if you have the budget for a Ram mount then I go with the Ram but the Scotty is a suitable budget-friendly sub.

I used this to mount my Helix 7. I have much more flexibility over the viewing angle now. I am pleased!

Bought this so I can mount a Lowrance Elite FS 9 finder/plotter in the boat. There are four holes that line up perfectly to the factory Lowrance bracket holes, so no drilling will be required to mount this. The large handle makes adjustments easy. My first Scotty product ever and thus far am really impressed with the quality and feel of it.

I bought this at a local shop for a few dollars more than it is being offered here. This is a great mount. It holds my 7 Garmin UHD very steady. The one adjustment screw for both ball joints make it very simple to position it where you want it. I am very happy with this purchase.

I just received this mount today and wanted to give it a try based on reading a lot of positive reviews. After getting it mounted I wish I would have spent the extra money on a RAM mount. The first flaw I see is that the balls are closer to the bases than a RAM mount which really limits how much the mount can adjust before the base hits the ball. You really only get adjustment in one direction with how little clearance they give between the ball and the bases.Second issue I see is there is no spring holding tension in the arm like RAM uses. It's not a huge problem but it is a really nice feature on the RAM's the way they have the spring setup to open up one end of the arm before the other. If you will be removing the arm often I would avoid this one because once the arm is loosened up enough to take it off the mount it falls off both balls. It can be a pain trying to get it back on to both at the same time without that tension the spring loaded RAM provides. The final and biggest problem I have found is you can not tighten this enough to make a solid mount. Even after cranking the mount down as tight as possible (I am 6'4” 275 pounds) I can move my helix 7 around almost like it's just finger tightened down. Even after pulling the helix 7 off the mount it can be moved a full 90 with just 1 finger. I tried to cut some “knurling” into the inside of the sockets to help grab the balls but it did little to no help. I may try to make some sort of “wrench” I can slip over the handle to tighten it even further but I'm fearful this plastic will just break if it's over tightened.
