I got the phone for my mom who is 100 and uses hearing aids (but still has trouble hearing). The volume- up for hearing on the call is nice and loud. She can hear the ringer on loud. I do wish the call volume level stayed at the set level from call to call, but she has to push it for each call. Hoping she'll get used to that. Her old phone had a boost button she was used to pushing each time.I was new to VOIP, so I had asked our provider if a regular phone would work on their system. From what I've read, all systems are not the same. Some do require special phones. I was able to set the one touch numbers, and they work fine. I waited until the VOIP was all set up, just in case the tones would work differently. I did label with names rather than pictures. So far, so good!

I wish the phone had better tech support for any problems in set up. I followed the enclosed directions and could only set up 5 of 6 speed dial buttons. There was no telephone number for support. It was purchased for an aunt with AMD.

It would be helpful if the receiver volume remained on high, instead of having to be reset for every call. Once it's turned up, the volume is louder than other phones we've tried. The direct dial buttons are tricky to program -- keep trying and they'll eventually work. I never could remove the plastic button covers to load photos underneath.

My mom has had this phone for 1 yr now. I programmed the phone numbers for her and inserted pictures. To program the numbers you need to press down the picture tab until you hear a beep. The problem is that having dementia, the person does not realize that pressing the picture tab for too long deletes the phone numbers. I have to program the phone numbers every time I see my mother. I finally gave up and wrote down the phone numbers and taped them to the wall. So this might not be for anyone with advance dementia.
