I need another tool bag like I need a hole in the head. So naturally I saw this bag and bought it. Because reasons. No, I really don't have a need for it. Right now I have several tool sets for different purposes (plumbing, electrical, general handyman stuff, etc.) but I'm always rearranging things depending on which job I need to tackle. A fair amount of what I do is for friends and family, and I'm often responding to a particular request. Can you change an outlet for me? Can you replace a front door lock? What do you know about fixing a Kenmore dryer? Stuff like that.So even though I didn't really need this tool bag, I got it because I want something very customizable with lots of organization. Something that I could grab, put some tools in, and take with me to a small job without dragging around a bunch of tools I won't use. It's not very big, but that's a good thing because it limits how much stuff (and how much weight) I have to lug around.A couple of years ago I bought a bunch of MOLLE pouches to help keep some of my work gear organized. I switched jobs and those pouches were laying around unused. Well, I've finally found a use for them.So far I have 2 dump pouches, one generic multi-compartment pouch, and one water bottle holder hanging off the MOLLE loops on the ends. I find that one of the biggest challenges when working out of a tool bag is rooting around in it to find specific tools, so having a bunch of different compartments is more for organization than for increasing payload.I put all the extra MOLLE pouches on the ends of the bag. There are MOLLE loops on the big side pocket as well, but their weight would be supported by the zipper and I didn't want to do that. Plus, the MOLLE loops on the side of the bag are useful for pens, safety glasses, zip ties, whatever. In the immediate future this bag will house some of my handyman tools so I can do small jobs around the house. When someone calls me to diagnose something like a car no-start, it'll house a multimeter, amp clamp, my Autel AL539B, some basic hand tools, test light, etc. Next time I'm working on my home network it'll carry a flashlight, LAN tester, crimp tools, whatever. Each tool will be organized and accessible instead of laying in the bottom of a giant pit.Do I need this bag? Absolutely not. Will it simplify my life? You bet it will.
