This just makes so much sense when camping! We used it last weekend while camping Friday through Sunday. It was so nice not having to walk 1/2 a mile every time we needed to relieve ourselves or walk into the scary dark armadillo infested woods to dig a hole. To use it...We lined our standard bucket with plastic bags (x 3) and put a scoop of cheap kitty litter ($1 bag from wally world) every time we went to soak it up. It was a little weird to see inside the lid condensate.... and when it was time to go it wasn't exactly fun to be the person who had to clean this up, but whatever. We washed it down, stuck it in a trash bag, and took care of the rest when we got home. That's life and it is sooooo worth having. We plan to use this in future for more camping trips and a music festival. Should you buy this? Yes!!! Also consider getting: One of those single person pop-up privacy shelters. A bungee cord that fits thru a roll of toilet paper to hang your TP. Some of the special toilet bags they sell on here. Hand sanitizer to leave in the toilet tent. Cheap kitty litter. P.S. I posted this review on my own free will. Since I check out the reviews for everything I purchase, I'm a little skeptical when people get stuff free to write a review (maybe I'm just jealous?) I paid full price for this, used it, liked it, and wrote a review. I'm sharing my thoughts and advice willingly for the goodness of others.

Works as described, though the lid should open further so it won't hit your back. Seat is exactly the size of a bucket top. Not very comfortable.

A little better than mediocre for the price. Honestly, I think these should be more like $5.

This solves a problem. There really isn't much more to say about it. It does snap into your standard 5 gallon HD or Lowes buckets. The lid doesn't really snap down, but it more or less holds. Be careful with the hinge point, as it will probably break if you lean back too far.

This is more for those that don't want to deal with a porta potty but need somewhere to go. I feel that for $15 the quality and design should be much better. The plastic is not super awesome, and there are manufacturing defects in the plastic. Nothing that would make it unusable, but it has a dirty look right out the box.

Functionally, it will work. For men, this would be #2 emergency use only. Its a bit on the small side for stand up #1, and probably too small/difficult for sit down #1. Better off using a tree for #1. For the ladies, my wife reports that it is (barely) adequate for #1 and emergency #2. This is the kind of thing where it is nice to know that you do have a place for #2 (and #1), but you would really not be looking to #2 unless it is an emergency. This sort of puts your mind at ease and allows you to hold #2 longer than you would otherwise. You could go, but I can wait. This product affords you that.

You will want to bring small bags, and something like cat litter, peat moss, saw dust or something that can absorb and reduce odors. Again, its really best to not actually use the bucket. However, if you did, you want to bag that up, get it out of there, and tie it off. One person its fine, but two or more and this becomes a bit of a chore.

Overall, I would probably not buy this again at this price. This should be more like $10 and should have better plastic/design. The lid should also positively snap down and almost seal it to help keep bugs out and odor in. I didn't expect the world from a bucket toilet seat system, but at this price it does let you down a little bit. Hence, four stars. At $5 for this product I would have given this five stars. I would just buy three or four of them at a time and just throw out the whole thing after using it.

It's a good idea and works as advertised. The unit is very light weight, so I have some concern about longevity, and the seat is rather small (I'm 5'9", 176lbs). On the other hand it's a cheap simple solution for outdoor hygiene in many circumstances.
