This is the third brand of game we purchased, and I love this one the best. The grid sits in a track in the base, so there aren't any legs breaking off or slide releases getting stuck. I bought this for my daughter, due to her autism she likes to make patterns and there aren't many toys that make her happy, but she's gotten 100's of hours of joy from this

Great quality - the kids (3 5) play with it often! I prefer that this one does not have the release lever since that would be one more part to break. The kids love dumping the checkers out at the end of each game. Stand is an excellent size to keep the pieces in when not in use.
