I used one of these pumps for about 5 years and it was fine. When I reordered it the new pump lasted a week and failed. I now have a replacement and it is doing fine so far. However the new Plastic guard system is too flimsy and tends to warp easily.

We installed in our pond immediately upon receiving this pump and we are very happy with the performance. Great price and, so far, great performance.

I repeat: it Works as advertised... so far. The one it replaced had worn through the bearing cup in the plastic impeller housing.Time will tell how long this one lasts. The design for the motor is very good, if only the stationary bearing ends of the rotor will last longer.

I've had very good results with a Pondmaster 535GPM Mag drive pump, so when my waterfall pump quit I immediately looked at the 1800 GPM. So far I'm very happy with the choice. Pondmaster backs up the product with a great warranty. Only hitch is that the prefilter needs to be cleaned more than I'd like. I've got a spare so I rotate the clean filter every few days to keep the waterfall moving at the highest rate

So far, good & powerful. Also came with a rigid pre-filter which I recommend using - it makes a difference.I have a smaller model for many years now & it still works just the same!

I've ran Mag drives in my pond since I started a big pond in 1999. After many years of continuous service this was a replacement drive. On average they've given me upwards of 6 years of contious service. I haven't found any pumps that provide more flow for less energy cost, repair cost, or up front purchase price.

Using this pump for saltwater aquarium. I got this because my other pump burned out after 90 days and had no warranty. I was pissed. So after reading tons of online reviews Danner pumps seemed to be great. I thought 1800 gph pump would be a little stronger but it seems to do the job just fine. Its hooked up to a giant protein skimmer and uv sterilizer. So far so good, seems very heavy duty, thick gauge cable quality build.

The Danner MD 1800 was added to my Aquaponic System and has performed great. Very quiet and very powerful pump. I have heard nothing but good reviews on these pumps and so far I can see why.

I've had these in various sizes, from a tiny fountain pump to the 1800 gph, all the same simple design. They have gotten rather pricey but you do get a rugged, reliable pump for your money. They work well, are surprisingly small (but heavy), and last a long time if you 1) always use a pre-filter of some kind, 2) keep the pre-filter from clogging, and 3) never forget to clean the impeller before storing the pump (see below). My only and very slight criticism of the Pondmaster 1800 is that the discharge is rather small for a pump of this flow rate.If you shut down your pump for the winter make sure to disassemble and clean it: Remove the impeller housing, carefully pull the impeller out of the motor (it's held in the motor magnetically so you need to pull it out firmly) and clean everything carefully so there is no grit or pond crud on the impeller or inside the motor housing (I use a tooth brush). Neglecting to clean it can result in the pump binding up just long enough to snap the ceramic shaft when you try to start the pump after it has been in storage. Pump warranties don't cover the impeller--- currently ~$27 for the 1800.

We plugged it in a month ago, and it's been running reliably since. Our old pump, a Beckett, started having problems w/in a year. We like the fact that if this one should have problems, some of the parts can be replaced w/out having to buy a whole new pump. The reviews of this pump are good, so we're keeping our fingers crossed!
