This deluxe set is definitely a step up from the old "standard" one we have from about 10 years ago with hollow pieces. I think the old vintage sets were hollow, and there were many versions over the years. I just like the feel of the solid pieces in this set. Classic fun game.<br />1. The tiles are little thinner and smaller, but are solid. Much better tactile feel.<br />2. The tile trays alone make this set worthwhile. The trays are just light plastic, nothing special, but they hold 10 tiles. If you're playing two players, you can each use 2 trays, which can come in handy. If you've been balancing the tiles on edge, you will immediately know what I'm saying.<br />3. The tiles are flat on the back, but have a small brass "spinner" on the tops. These serve 3 good purposes:<br />a) makes the face-down mixing easier.<br />b) probably will result in less scuffing of the tops when mixing.<br />c) makes the tiles easier to pick up when drawing tiles.

I know its not a new game but my partner and I love playing, we have also taken Tri-Ominos up to our community centre on a card game afternoon to introduce the game to other retirees, so a great all rounder and easy. Is it possible to order extra racks/trays for the above game .

Bought this game as a gift for my mother-in-law and it instantly became a hit with the whole family for holiday/family nights. I ended up buying another one so I could keep one at my house as well.

I order this game to everybody I know as we love to play. We are seniors but when the grandchildren come to stay, they really enjoy this game too. Also, when we take a flight, it is so portable and easy to put in my purse. I made a string bag to make it easier to carry around. J.Mathews

They really are!! My mom (85 years young) got us hooked...and we (57 and 52 years young) now have any number of our friends hooked...and so on...and so on! Excellent for concentration, mental acuity, strategy and just plain fun! Get the Triominos in the tin - high quality, substantial, a real value! Our family plays this game almost everyday, It is fun for the whole family..... Our 8 year generally wins because he thinks every move out..... I would recommend every family have this game.....
