I used this along with a foam roller to work out my IT band problem in short order. I have passed this strap on to my son since I don't need it any longer and he does (for now)

This WORKS!! I have recently been experiencing fairly severe IT pain. I would have to stop running and walk by mile 2 because the pain was just too much. I tried this on a short run (3 miles) with good success, so I tried an 8 mile run. NO PAIN! At about mile 4 I had to stop to tighten the strap, but I consider that a very small inconvenience in exchange for pain-free running. You will have to experiment with the best positioning for you. It works better for me if I wear it a little higher than "right above the kneecap" as the instructions advise. I have a half-marathon in two weeks, and I was really worried I wouldn't be able to do it because of the pain. Now, I have all the confidence in the world that I can run it pain free.

This strap stays in place above the knee and gives some relief. If this is the problem you have, then you may want to try this strap.

Provides a lot of relief...but wish it could be pulled tighter b/c by mile 3, I'm feelin a bit of pain starting to creep in.

I used the Cho-pat bands for some time until my ITBS seemed to worsen. I bought the Mueller band and like it more because it is not as bulky and a bit more adjustable for my leg.

I am having pain above my knee and on the outer side of my knee and being overweight and my recently new walking routine believed it could be my ITB. Though it is better than nothing, the materails are just to flismy. The tighter I try to get it, it stretches out making the strap thinner and thus not as supportive.
