This WORKS!! I have recently been experiencing fairly severe IT pain. I would have to stop running and walk by mile 2 because the pain was just too much. I tried this on a short run (3 miles) with good success, so I tried an 8 mile run. NO PAIN! At about mile 4 I had to stop to tighten the strap, but I consider that a very small inconvenience in exchange for pain-free running. You will have to experiment with the best positioning for you. It works better for me if I wear it a little higher than "right above the kneecap" as the instructions advise. I have a half-marathon in two weeks, and I was really worried I wouldn't be able to do it because of the pain. Now, I have all the confidence in the world that I can run it pain free.
