This Lodge tripod arrived quickly and in time for an important cook we had planned for July 4th weekend. I had looked at this and other tripod options for a while and finally pulled the trigger on getting this one. I've been very pleased with its performance thus far. It held my 5/6 quart Dutch oven solidly as I cooked up some Cowboy beans. I was able to adjust the amount of heat needed by easily changing the chain length. The tripod spread out sufficiently to cover my firepit and could have done more or less had the need arrived. I wasn't expecting the carry bag so that was a nice surprise, which will make carting the tripod on camping trips easy and clean. A good purchase so far!

I am looking for a tripod to cook with my Dutch Oven while camping. Unfortunately, I cannot determine if this product is made in the USA or China. I will not purposefully buy anything from China any more. Many of the reviews here have said that the Lodge website states that all their products are made in the USA, but this product was delivered in a package that said that it was made in China. Sorry, Lodge, you lost a prospective sale...

Does the job nicely and as expected. Just be aware, not all firepits are created equal. Many campgrounds are using large and thick walled firepits and this doesn't reach the outside. We have had to place the tripod inside the fire ring to be able to use it. With that said, it works perfect and as intended.

For a collapsible tripod, I wasn't sure what to expect. However, it holds weight very well, is surprisingly sturdy, and stores well. My only complaint is the placement for the chain, but did not appear to affect it's ability to stand and hold heavy weight.
