Lindy HDMI CEC Less Adapter, Female to Male (41232) This little device solves Consumer Electronic Control issues I had with my cable box, Sony TV and Sonos sound bar. The cable TV box kept changing the TV out put from the sound bar to internal TV speakers. This solved the problem

Absolutely should be cheaper, but it did solve my problem of my HTPC interfering with the CEC control between my TV and Receiver. It worked just fine with the HTPC disconnected, and failed to discover each other once the HTPC was connected. Once I plugged in the HTPC through this adapter, everything worked perfectly.

I got rid of all my old Bose surround sound system..and went to a Sonos Arc sound bar system with rear speakers and Sub. The Sonos Arc requires you to use the HDMI E-ARC input for it to work properly. Now...IF you have a cable box set-up....usually you will be required to put it in the E-ARC HDMI slot. Well...that was already filled with the input for the Sonos Arc sound bar. When I would connect to a non-ARC HDMI, I would get picture...but no sound. When i received this adapter, I plugged it directly to a standard HDMI slot...and then the HDMI cable in to the adapter...and BINGO-PRESTO...the sound started working. Apparently, they remove one pin in the HDMI connector that corrects this problem. I dont know all the tech stuff....but installing this upfront would have prevented me from spending hours on the phone with Sonos, LG, Samsung and my cable provider. They were ALL stumped.

I have an LG OLED TV that was not happy with my Sonos Arc and Bluetooth headphones. The TV would constantly switch off the BT headphones and revert back to the HDMI input for the ARC. This solved the problem!

Used with Apple TV 4K to stop CEC inquiry. Even though I was not having an issue with my current TV as others have had with theirs, I felt this was cheap insurance in the future. Well made, quality product.

I had issues with my Xbox Series X interfering with my TV's ability to communicate with my soundbar. Even disabling CEC on the xbox didn't help. As a longshot I bought and tried this dongle, and it worked! I'm able to keep my Xbox plugged into my TV, and I haven't had a single soundbar issue yet!Note: 4k120 and HDR still works! It just doesn't let my xbox turn on my TV, but that was expected.

My issue was that my LG TV turned on my LG UHD Player anytime the TV was activated. Very frustrating. For some reason LG doesn't allow you to deactivate the HDMI-CEC on its player. This simple adapter successfully stops that function (pin 13) now. Exactly what the Doctor ordered. And yes, it passes through Dolby Vision, DTS X and Dolby Atmos no sweat. From what I understand it's essentially a perfect extension of your existing HDMI just with the proper pin out of the HDMI CEC equation. It could be a tad cheaper, but it's worth saving unwanted activation. Would def recommend.

The one thing about ARC is the feature that they put in for Grandma's which allows the inputs to be changed when you power on a device. Like if you turn on your BluRay, the TV goes on, switches input to the BluRay, etc. But if you have multiple devices and some that don't play by the rules (like the Fire TV Cube) it's really a PITA.If you use an intelligent remote like a Harmony that can turn on the devices and set the inputs itself, this is a must have item. All you do is plug it into the HDMI port (either side) and it just removes the switching signals (CMC) but leaves all the other eARC functions still alone including full spectrum return path audio and even supports up to 8K video. At the cost of high end HDMI cables and the equipment you buy to support all this, this is a cheap fix for an annoying feature. The only other option is to turn off ARC entirely in your system which drops all the other features. A device
